ABOUT OUR TUTORS Kath Baerentzen Kath started out in her early years after obtaining grade 8 in Voice and Piano, singing as a soloist at church, and a member of the Worcester Gilbert and Sullivan society. She then moved on to singing professionally in both rock and pop groups, enjoying a number of European and UK tours. She then moved to jazz, singing and performing with jazz musicians, expanding her knowledge of jazz styles and improvisation. Her next career move was to be the resident vocalist for a Middle Eastern Hotel chain, performing in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Bahrain. On returning to Britain, Kath completed her CTABRSM whilst performing in a seven piece jazz ensemble and also performing with Big Band Ensembles. Kath is now studying for her Masters Degree. We are very pleased to have a tutor of Kath's ability and knowledge with us |

ABOUT OUR TUTORS Angie Grayson Angie Grayson is an experienced piano teacher and performer, teaching students of all levels and abilities. She has recently joined us at BSM and offers both piano and keyboard lessons in classical and popular styles. Students can choose to take exams (either with the ABRSM or LCM) or not, whichever is their preference. Angie worked for many years as a State Registered Music Therapist, employed by the NHS in London, Sutton Social Services, Birmingham ChildrenÕs Hospital and Birmingham Education Authority. She has worked with both children and adults with Special Needs. Angie is currently a member of Worcester based ensemble 'Mixed Company' and works as a cocktail pianist. |

ABOUT OUR TUTORS Joanna Cogle Joanna Cogle is a Violin and Piano teacher, who also composes under her motherÕs maiden name Karselis. Born in Oxford, Joanna initially moved into music performance as a violinist and pianist, but discovered a passion for composition during her undergraduate degree at the University of Birmingham. She subsequently completed a Masters in Composition, and has received multiple commissions and won several competitions for her composition work. She has scored several plays and two films. During 2015 Joanna released her debut singer-songwriter EP (Journey on Home) and a single (Here is Love). Her songs have received airtime on BBC WM. Joanna is working on several upcoming film and theatre projects alongside her teaching. |

ABOUT OUR TUTORS Esther Beard Esther graduated in 2015 from Birmingham Conservatoire with a BMus Hons in Vocal and Operatic Performance. She made her debut in Michael Wolters world premiere of ÒAvaÕs WeddingÓ as Elaine Hobbs and Marcellina in MozartÕsMarriage of Figaro in 2014/5 Esther also obtained her ATCL Diploma in Piano Performance in 2011 and gained a place at Birmingham Conservatoire with a Scholarship. She studied under Margaret Fingerhut and Cathy Benson during her time there |
