ABOUT OUR TUTORS
Jess Hignall
Jess has been playing the flute for 16 years and the saxophone for 12 years. She studied music at Wolverhampton University, focusing on performance on flute and soprano saxophone where she attained her BMus (Hons) during this time she also took up playing the clarinet. She then studied at Liverpool University Music performance on the flute and piccolo where she also did a module in instrumental teaching attaining distinction; she finished Liverpool University with Masters in music MMus with Merit. Before going to university Jess took a gap year due to being offered a job at Baxter College to teach flute and saxophone, this she thoroughly enjoyed and learnt a great deal.
Jess now does freelance performance work and instrumental teaching. Jess is also the Musical Director at St Barnabas Church Kidderminster where she conducts the Adult Choir and Junior Choir she is also playing the organ for some services.
Jess loves music and learning new skills she has just recently attained her Grade One on the organ and hopes to take Grade Two next year.
